Saturday morning promises to be exceptional with three distinct experiences curated for you.

Please note:

"Deconstructing the Myths of Mochi"
Futures Thinking and Conflict Transformation

Facilitator: Dr. Ivana Milojević , Co-Founder, Metafuture

In Conflict? Futures Methods for Conflict Transformation

In this workshop, we will utilize the future as a resource to transform conflict in the present moment. We will discuss how to minimize conflicts already occurring, how to prevent them from happening in the future, and how to repair relationships after they have taken place. Conflict can also be an opportunity to create something novel, something different, and in that sense, we are going to look at where we want to go rather than where we have been. When we look at the past, we get one approach. But when we go into the future which is much more open, we are in a much better position to deal with the conflict in the present moment. These are the dynamics we will discuss in the workshop, and we will utilize a number of futures tools and methods for constructive conflict transformation.

"How to Become a Futures Chef"
A Participatory Workshop in Futures Literacy (70 pax limit)

Facilitators: Dr. Nur Anisah Abdullah, Jesica Bastidas, Alethia Berenice Montero Baena

What's in store...

Join us for a playful imaginative session of futures literacy!

At this workshop, we will be exploring how we think of our cities - what is preferable, what are we trying to move away from? What’s stopping us from changing? We will introduce the Futures Triangle to help us frame our ideas for a transformative city.

Can you think on your feet, role-play, and improvise with performance and storytelling? You will learn to use creative exercises to loosen up our imagination and communication skills, such as speed writing and improvising a news broadcast.

Let your “ridiculous” and weird ideas flow — they are the best!

We shall meet on Zoom [ a link will be sent via email after registration]

We would love to see you in action — active participation is required.

During the workshop we will be using the MIRO board for collaborative discussion, and it would be easier to work using a laptop or a tablet. Get ready and see you soon!

We welcome those who are new to Futures Studies, emerging futurists, and budding facilitators.

Workshop Objectives

At the end of the workshop, participants will have…

Ability to talk about what thinking about the future means

Ability to use our imagination to think about the future

Facilitators: Frank Spencer & Yvette Montero Salvatico, Co-Founders & Principals, The Futures School

What's in store...

The Futures School leverages a holistic framework for thinking and acting on the future called Natural Foresight®. The world is more complex than ever before, and old ways of developing strategy, managing change and creating innovation are no longer adequate in our landscape of accelerating and exponential change. Natural Foresight® exposes leaders and organizations to an action-based approach to building futures thinking. This framework includes foresight tools such as environmental scanning, assumption and bias modeling and scenario development, but is organized in an adaptive, resilient and transformative approach that has been successfully implemented by organizations around the world.
